Emmanuel Toefield was acting disorderly inside of a business on the 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard around 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, county police said.
Security personnel told him he needed to leave, but Toefield returned a short time later and tried to strike the guard, authorities said. Before leaving the scene on foot, security called police and responding officers found Toefield and tried to detain him.
Toefield was non-compliant and tried to flee again on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Toefield pushed an officer and resisted arrest, according to county police. He was taken into custody and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.
Toefield, who appears to be unhoused, was charged with Assault of Police, Assault and Battery and Obstruction of Justice.
